About The Role

As our Client Success Manager, you're the human face of HSD after a contractor signs on. You make sure clients see results, stay engaged, and renew month after month.

Home Service Direct generates exclusive leads for tree service, window & door, flooring, gutter, decking, fencing, land clearing, and bathroom remodeling companies across the US. We've grown fast because our clients win — and we need someone whose entire job is keeping it that way.

You'll own the relationship from kickoff call through renewal. You'll be on the phone with crew owners, walking them through dashboards, answering questions, flagging issues to our ad ops team, and making sure they feel like they have a partner — not just an agency.

What You'll Own

Client onboarding & kickoff callsFirst impressions matter. You'll run the welcome call, set expectations, and align on the 30-day win.
Monthly check-ins & reportingWalk clients through their numbers, celebrate wins, address concerns. Translate marketing data into business outcomes they care about.
Retention & renewalCatch churn signals early. Run save plays when needed. Drive month-over-month retention metrics.
Issue resolutionWhen a client's unhappy, you don't pass it off — you dig in, coordinate with ad ops, and close the loop.
Upsells & expansionSpot opportunities to add channels, expand territories, or upgrade packages. Grow accounts without being pushy.

Who You Are

2+ years in client success, account management, or agency client servicesBonus if it's at a marketing agency or B2B SaaS.
You speak business owner, not marketerYou can explain CPL and ROAS to a tree guy in muddy boots without sounding like LinkedIn. (No "leverage," no "synergy.")
You're proactive, not reactiveYou catch issues before clients complain. You follow up before they have to chase you.
Comfortable on Zoom and on the phoneDaily client calls — sometimes 4-6 in a row. You need real interpersonal stamina.
Familiarity with Google Ads, Meta Ads, GHL, or marketing dashboardsYou don't have to run campaigns, but you should be able to read a report and know what's good vs. bad.

  1. CRM experience. Tell us which CRM(s) you've actually used, what you did in them day-to-day, and how comfortable you are picking up a new one.
  2. Marketing capabilities. What's your experience with Google Ads, Meta/Facebook, SEO, or local service ads? You don't have to run campaigns — but can you read a report, know what a CPL means, and tell a client whether the numbers are good or bad?
  3. Task management. Walk us through your task management, your experience using ClickUp and Asana, and how you stay on top of multiple clients, coordinating with team members and not dropping the ball.
  4. Sales experience. Tell us about your sales background — what you've actually sold, average deal size, any quota you carried, and how comfortable you are with upsells, renewals, and consultative selling on client calls.
  5. Proactive problem-solving. Give us a real story: a problem you spotted before anyone asked, a fix you figured out on your own, and what you actually did. We want concrete examples — not "I'm a problem solver." Show us.
